London insurance company Beazley recently appointed Stefan Wunderlich as the head of parametric insurance, based in Zurich. Wunderlich has 20 years of experience at Swiss Re. He has led the climate risk management team for corporate clients and was responsible for the development of parametric solutions. Richard Montminy, the head of property risk at Beazley Group, said that parametric underwriting can deal with complex risk environments more efficiently. In recent years, the company has tripled its property underwriting scale and expanded into the European market.
QBE Insurance Group announced that Adrian Browne will assume the position of Director of Accident Insurance Underwriting in the UK on January 1, 2026. Browne has worked at QBE for 22 years and served as the portfolio manager for UK accident insurance in the past four years. He succeeded Anna Bennett, who was about to retire. The latter led the team to achieve a 43% increase in premiums. Chris Wallace, an executive of QBE Europe, praised Browne’s experience and solution capabilities as helping customers address market challenges.
The appointments of the two companies reflect the insurance industry‘s emphasis on professional fields such as parameterization and accident insurance. Beazley strengthened its ability to deal with property risks through parametric insurance, while QBE continued the growth momentum of its accident insurance business through internal promotion. These adjustments are aimed at addressing the increasingly complex risk environment and customer demands.
