On June 12, 2025, the Small Business Administration (SBA) of the United States announced that due to severe storms, tornadoes and floods that occurred from March 30 to April 8, 2025, counties such as Bullinger, Butler and Cape Gillado in Missouri were classified as major disaster areas. This statement was released on May 21st, allowing affected non-profit organizations to apply for disaster relief loans through the SBA online portal for the repair of public infrastructure and facility damage.
Disaster relief assistance is mainly targeted at non-profit organizations that provide basic government services, covering personal injury and economic losses. Eligible organizations can apply for loans with an interest rate of 3.625%, which is particularly suitable for institutions that cannot obtain credit through other channels. The application deadline for physical injury loans is July 22, 2025, while the application deadline for economic injury disaster loans (EIDL) is February 23, 2026.
This federal aid will help the disaster-stricken counties rebuild key facilities and restore basic services that were disrupted by severe weather, which is crucial for community recovery.
