Cigna Healthcare has appointed Marlene Matsuoka, a seasoned leader within the organization, as the new General Manager for its group employer business in Northern California.
In her new role, Matsuoka will spearhead the company’s efforts to enhance market growth among client employers with fewer than 3,000 employees. Her focus will be on creating value for customers and ensuring that Cigna Healthcare’s local market strategies, product offerings, and network solutions adapt to the changing needs of both customers and clients. Additionally, she will collaborate closely with network leaders, medical executives, and other key stakeholders to bolster community outreach efforts in the regions Cigna Healthcare serves.

Matsuoka brings over 35 years of experience in building strategic client relationships and leading high-performing sales teams at Cigna Healthcare. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Account Management in Northern California, where she delivered outstanding results over her 16-year tenure. Before joining Cigna in 2008, she held key roles in sales, account management, and leadership at Great-West Healthcare, Blue Shield of California, MetLife, and HealthAmerica.
Matsuoka resides in Lafayette and will operate out of Cigna Healthcare’s Walnut Creek office.
