Former NFL player Kelvin Joseph was arrested on suspicion of being involved in a fatal car accident in the Dallas area. According to the Dallas Morning News, 25-year-old Joseph was driving a BMW when he collided with a motorcycle on the highway, resulting in the death of 27-year-old motorcyclist Cody Morris. The police have charged Joseph with drunk driving and a second-degree felony involving personal injury or death. It is not yet clear whether he is represented by a lawyer.
Joseph was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and has since played for several NFL teams. Recently, he has been playing for the DC Guard in the UFL league. UFL issued a statement saying it was aware of his arrest but made no further comment. This is not the first time Joseph has been involved in a legal dispute – in 2022, he was listed as a witness in a shooting incident but was not charged.
The car accident happened in the early hours of Saturday. Joseph voluntarily reported it to the police and turned himself in. Previously, his performance during his time with the Cowboys was mediocre. Now, he has once again drawn attention due to this incident. The case is still under investigation and more details remain to be disclosed.
