SINGAPORE — The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) has appointed Min Hung Cheng as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition as the organization continues its efforts to close protection gaps across Asia.
Cheng brings more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry to her new role. She previously served as GAIP’s Deputy CEO and Senior Director, and has held senior leadership positions at prominent firms including Manulife, Aviva, and AXA. Her appointment comes at a time when GAIP is seeking to accelerate its programmes and deepen collaboration across sectors.
In a statement, GAIP Chairman Yoshi Kawai expressed strong support for the new CEO. “As we enter this next phase of growth, I am confident that Min will accelerate our key initiatives and strengthen GAIP’s impact across the insurance industry,” he said.
GAIP is a unique tripartite initiative that brings together the global insurance industry, regulatory bodies, policymakers, and academic institutions. Its mission is to build resilience to large-scale systemic and emerging risks through policy research, strategic recommendations, and the development of practical solutions.
With Cheng at the helm, GAIP aims to further its role as a platform for innovative risk management strategies and long-term resilience building in the region.
