FUW Insurance Services Limited has officially launched a new division, FUW Commercial, as part of its strategy to broaden its reach in the commercial insurance market across North Wales. The new division aims to offer tailored insurance solutions to businesses operating along the A55 corridor, covering a range of sectors such as haulage, construction, hospitality, motor trade, retail, and leisure.
This move marks a significant departure from the company’s traditional focus on agricultural clients, allowing FUW Insurance to extend its offerings to the commercial sector. FUW Commercial will provide access to various commercial insurance products, including coverage for property, vehicles, liability, and business continuity, positioning itself as a regional provider with in-depth local knowledge and sector-specific expertise.
Leading the new division is Esther Richards Dip CII, who has been with FUW Insurance Services since 2013, managing operations across the Flintshire and Denbighshire offices. “I’m very excited to be leading this new project aimed at prioritizing the insurance needs of businesses and commercial outlets,” said Richards, expressing her enthusiasm for the initiative.
FUW Insurance Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW), and the launch of FUW Commercial coincides with the union’s 70th anniversary. This expansion reflects a broader strategy to diversify the organisation’s insurance operations, extending beyond its agricultural roots.
Guto Bebb, Group CEO of FUW, emphasized the company’s commitment to growing the FUW Insurance Services brand. “We continually look for opportunities to develop the FUW Insurance Services brand and to serve businesses in Wales who need insurance cover,” Bebb noted. He also highlighted Richards’ expertise in commercial and business insurance as a key factor in the division’s successful launch.
FUW Commercial will operate as a separate business line but will continue to benefit from the operational support of the wider FUW Insurance Services team. The company has also hinted at the possibility of expanding the commercial division to other regions in the future, depending on client demand.
